Mackinac Island State Park
Mackinac Island is a stunning natural park which spans 70.5 miles and contains some amazing features from history. Some of the most impressive of these are Ice Age glaciers. As you follow the trails and tracks you’ll be faced with a host of beautiful sites and historical features.
Ludington State Park
This state park contains a host of different ecosystems: forests, coast, sand dunes and grasslands. It is a place popular with campers and hikers alike, and you can spend time exploring the forest or relaxing on the beach. It is also the home of Big Sable Point Lighthouse, which was first lit in 1876.
Tahquamenon Falls State Park
If photography is your thing, then a trip to the Tahquamenon park will give you some great Instagram opportunities. Filled with flowing waterfalls and tucked into a blanket of trees, this place is a great one to escape from reality and enjoy nature first hand.
Opened in 1957, the Mighty Mac bridge joins the upper and lower Peninsulas of Michigan. You wouldn’t want to be the one painting that bridge!
Detroit Institute of Arts
The Detroit Institute of Arts holds one of the most significant collections of art in America. With over 100 galleries in its walls, it features art from all over the globe. It is an amazing place to visit if you love the arts.
Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park
Meijer Gardens is a sculpture experience and botanical gardens all in one. The gardens hold one of the biggest displays of horticulture from all around the globe. It is also viewed as one of the most must-see museums in the world.
Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore
This place is like the ultimate photographer’s dream- the main feature being the stunning multi-coloured cliffs which contrast against bright blue sea water. It is a place which many love to photograph and is somewhere you’ll feel in awe at the world’s natural beauty. Your Instagram account will be very happy once you’ve visited this place!
