An old-fashioned Williamsburg Christmas

Why not head on over to the Williamsburg Christmas event which takes place on the first Saturday of every December at the Jeffersonville Depot Village. Those longing for a time-honored Christmas will find themselves in heaven with old-fashioned carolling around the piano, gingerbread house building contests, tours of historic buildings and sleighbell waggon rides before finishing the day with warm woissol and cookies. What a beautiful way to take the whole family back in time.  

Steubenville Nutcracker Village

You may have taken the family to see the festive themes Nutcracker movie by Disney, but at the Nutcracker Village in Steubenville, you can live the Nutcracker adventure. Open late November right through to early January this yuletide wonderland has to be seen to be believed while the advent market is a great place to pick up unique and locally crafted gifts for all of your loved ones. A magical experience for the whole family.

See the Woodland Lights in Dayton

If you’re looking for an experience that truly encapsulates the wonder and romance of Christmas, it’s hard to argue for a better trip than a trip to Dayton, Ohio to see the spectacular Woodland Lights. This is a month-long festival of holiday lights, with animated displays and a constantly revolving slate of activities and entertainments for the whole family to enjoy together. Along the half-mile wooded path, you’ll find a wide array of adorable illuminated characters and critters as well as a breathtaking panorama of illumination.

You’ll find live animals to admire, costumed characters to giggle at, amusement rides to make you whoop with glee, romantic carriage rides and delectable festival foods.

Top it all off by taking the kids to see Santa in his historic cabin right up until December 23rd.  

Ohio may not be on your bucket list, but it’s the perfect place to enjoy a magical Christmas with the family at a price that won’t upset your carefully balanced family finances.
